Here are some brief instructions on how to enable your Clasco 9500 C W Caller I D boxto work with Caller I D on call/waiting, otherwise called Caller I d deluxe.

A brief description of the box is in order. With the box facing you, you will notice four piano keys on the right-hand side of the box. Going from left to right, these keys are- record, mode, rewind, and forward.

To enable the accessibility features of the box, hold down the mode key for several seconds until a couple of dings are heard in the speaker. This will turn on the accessibility features of this box. These accessibility features were meant to assist the visually impaired in using this box.

Doing this procedure accomplishes 'many things at one time. In most cases, merely turning on the accessibility features will allow your caller I D box to work with caller I d with call waiting, such that when you're on the phone talking to someone and a call comes in and your call-waiting beep sounds, the box will read you the phone number over the speaker.

There are many other settings that you can change in this box via the options menu. I won't go into them here, but one setting you may have to change is Item Number 8 in the options menu. To get to the options menu hold the mode key and the forward key down at the same time. No speech will be heard, but you will be on Item Number 1. Hit the mode key, and count up until you get to Item Number 8. Once you're there, hit the record key, and that will turn on call-waiting caller I D talk. Hit the mode button once more, and that will take you out of the options menu.

There are many other options that you might wish to set, such as having caller I D call-waiting information spoken through the handset, as well as the speaker, or through the handset only. All of those can be done from the options menu.

In addition to that, there are many, many features that you can take advantage of by using the different modes provided via the mode switch on the 9500 C W.

I believe that Clasco has produced an audio cassette version of the manual, or at least accessibility instructions. For more information you might want to contact Clasco at area code (603) 746-6500. Again that's (603) 746-6500. I also understand that their tech support is excellent.
