The meeting began with introductions at 1 p.m. Three notetakers were demonstrated: Braille Sense, Pac Mate and Braille Note MPower.
After the demonstrations, the minutes for the March 11th meeting were read and approved with one correction. Vibug members were encouraged to fill out the survey on the website.
The announcements included: Chicago Lighthouse is offering free tech support, Pac Mate 4.0 has been released, JAWS keyboard interface for Window-Eyes is available from their website. There is a nasty string that could crash Eloquence and Freedom Scientific has a remedy. Tim Cummings suggested an upgrade to GoldWave 512 would be unwise since access to Audible.com files is prohibited and the new version is less accessible. Book Port's newest upgrade has been released. It was agreed that Richard Seltzer, who distributes books on CD, could come to speak at a future VIBUG meeting provided that he focused on the technical aspects of his service in his presentation.
The meeting adjourned at 4 p.m.
Respectfully submitted,
Gilbert Busch
VIBUG Clerk
