Date of Meeting: August 10, 2002
The meeting was called to order at 1:05 p.m. by President Amy Ruell. Following introductions, the minutes were read and approved as written.
Amy made the following announcements: For the September meeting, she is hoping to get Paul Silva from ZForm to demonstrate ZForm Poker, which may be played on-line with people all over the world.
Humanware is currently offering on-line technical support, and training for both Braille-note and voice-note users.
Our annual meeting will be held on October 14, 2002. Though a slate of officers has been recommended, people interested in holding positions in VIBUG may be nominated from the floor.
Jaws 4.5 beta has been released. New features include jaws hotkeys for easier navigation on web pages, and flash support, and greater compatibility with XP.
On August 15, 2002 the next release of Kurzweil 1000 will be released. On-line registration for this product will be available.
The video chain problem with XP has not yet been resolved.
Brian Hartgen has released a tutorial for Window-eyes.
It is expected that the Braille-note with web browser will be released in September. There will be a GPS pricing upgrade, and a hardware upgrade for internet and cable access.
