VIBUG Minutes for Saturday, June 10, 2006

President Amy Ruell called the meeting to order at about 1:08 p.m.

After introductions, Ann and Margy from Fidelity Investments spoke of their company's efforts to improve accessibility for people with disabilities on their website. They presented findings from several studies, including ones in which VIBUG members had participated. VIBUG and Fidelity will continue to dialog to promote enhanced accessibility.

At our business meeting, Amy announced that the VIBUG survey is no longer on the web site, and that she is compiling the data. Elections will be held in October, so the Nominating committee will present a slate of candidates at our September 9 meeting.
There will be no meeting in July, and in August we will have a members only pool party at Steve and Marcia Dresser's home. Amy said that we now have 46 members.

Web-Braille is back, and Amy thanked us for our help.

There was an announcement about a website development conference called AIR Boston
to be held next winter.

A motion was passed that VIBUG give $100 to National Braille Press to thank the company for hosting our group.

techbargains.com may be a good place to purchase notebook computers at a reduced price.

The meeting adjourned at 4:15 p.m.
