VIBUG Meeting Minutes for Saturday, May 13, 2006

Prior to the regular meeting, At 10 a.m., Tim Cumings gave a class on the Goldwave sound-editing program.

President Amy Ruell called the meeting to order at 1 p.m. The April 8 minutes were approved as read.

Amy again urged VIBUG members to complete the survey, as it will be taken down from our Website on May 15.

Elections will be held in the fall; anyone interested in serving on the nominating committee should let Amy know.

Announcements included:
Web-Braille has been suspended until further notice, and Amy advised us "to make noise" about it.
At the June meeting, Marguerite and Ann from Fidelity will speak about Web accessibility and their research.
Amy told us that we are receiving more inquiries about VIBUG, but also more spam.

After computer questions (and another reminder to pay dues), Jen Bose demonstrated the Kurzweill-NFB Reader, with assistance from Sunish Gupta, an engineer who helped to develop this device.

Following this presentation, Ann and Marguerite from Fidelity, with assistance from Mika Pyykhala, showed us how online forms and instructions can be dealt with more easily.

The meeting was adjourned at 3:40 p.m.

Respectfully submitted,
Gilbert Busch
VIBUG clerk
