Date of Meeting: November 9, 2002
The meeting was called to order at 1:05 p.m. by President Amy Ruell. Following introductions, the minutes were read and approved as written.
Jeanette Kutash reported that there were four places where we could hold the annual christmas party. Three restaurants: The Red Hat, The Grand Canal, and The Original Sports saloon. As well, Jen Bose offered to host the party at her home. After lengthy discussion, it was decided that the VIBUG holiday party would be held at Jen's house. Amy will send out information regarding the party to the VIBUG contact list.
Amy Made the following announcements:
Pauline reminded people that the VIBUG library has tutorials available to members for loan. She can be reached by phone at (617) 776-9706, or by e-mail at pauline.ginny@erols.com. Pauline requested that members who wish to borrow tutorials should give her at least 2 days notice when making a request prior to a meeting and should plan to insure tutorials if they plan to return them by mail.
Bob Gildea suggested that we compile a list of devices that we could have available to demonstrate at a moment's notice when our presenter needs to cancel. Maria will explore this option.
Following our question and answer period, Marlaina Lieberg of Pulse Data, Inc. demonstrated the Braillenote and Voicenote, with particular emphasis on exploring the new Internet access, and the GPS availability. She also stated that people could access the chat link by going to: www.humanware.com/chat.htm. The meeting was adjourned at 4:10 p.m.
Respectfully Submitted,
