VIBUG MEETING MINUTES

Date of Meeting: April 13, 2024

When: 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.

WHERE: Virtually

The VIBUG Meeting for April 2024 was called to order by President Frank Ventura at 1:05 p.m. Following introductions, the following announcements were made.

Frank Ventura announced that a long-time member, Jim Walsh, recently passed away.

Jeanette Kutash, Vibug Clerk, announced that the minutes from March will be documented in a way that reflects our professional response when demos do not happen at the last minute. As well, she began the discussion about not sharing the link or sharing it cautiously with nonmembers, with John Smith, treasurer, reinforcing that the link traditionally before Covid, did not go to nonmembers, so it is worth considering being a member. John Smith also discussed the support list for members, and encouraged people to become members.

Frank Ventura also reinforced that traditionally it used to be that only members got the link, but that there had been issues with zoom bombers, and we would have to make a decision soon about how to handle the issue of distributing the link, though he was hopeful we could discretely share with nonmembers as we are doing now, though the link would not be posted to the announce link or on the website any longer. Frank also described how to join and pay dues, reminding all that the website is vibug.org.

Tim stated that he did update the website, and fixsed a number of broken links.

Following our questions and answers portion, the following demonstrations occurred:

Margaret Gaffney demonstrated AI facilities, which is now a part of Aira Explorer.

Antonio Guimaraes introduced us to a new braille display from HIMS.

The meeting was adjourned at 3:00 p.m.

Respectfully submitted, Jeanette Kutash, Vibug Clerk
