VIBUG MEETING MINUTES

Date of Meeting: February 13, 2021

When: 1:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Where: Virtually

The meeting was called to order by President Frank Ventura at 1:00 p.m. Following introductions, the following announcements were made.

Jerry Berrier announced that we have approximately 30 members at this time. We have two email lists, the VIBUG announce list which is for all, and the Vibug Support list which is for members only. If you think you should be on a list, but are not, email Jerry at jerry.berrier@gmail.com

Jeanette Kutash stated there is nothing to report except that the December minutes are up on the web, and the January ones have gone out to all members

.

Bob Resnick reported that dues are $20 and they can be paid by going to vibug.org and clicking on the PayPal button where you have the option of paying via PayPal itself or by credit card. If you need to pay by check or some other method, or cannot otherwise use computer options, please contact him. He states we have about 34 members in good standing. Last year we had about 65 members in good standing, so he is hoping that members from last year will go to PayPal and pay their dues for this year.

Tim Cumings stated there is nothing to report; he has both sets of minutes. The December ones are on the website and if there are no issues with the January minutes they will go up as well.

Frank has a request for feedback; in the past our meetings were September through May, with a virtual meeting in June. With the advent of Covid we have had virtual meetings, open to all. What would people like to do going forward in the next year? do we want to continue virtual meetings, have in-person meetings, and do we want to leave on-line meetings open to all? should we have some in-person meetings, and some virtual only? Keep in mind that previously we did have an on-line presence for members only. Send Frank an email at vibugpresident@outlook.com with your feedback.

Jeanette reminded all that if we go back to in-person meetings we need some time to reserve the space, so this is something that the sooner we can get feedback, the more helpful it will be.

Bob and Frank stated that membership payments may have been slowed down by not having our annual party, but memberships may be slowed down because people don't really know what will happen in the future.

Jerry Berrier demonstrated Super-Lidar, which assists in telling you how far away you are from objects, and recognizes objects.

Frank Ventura demonstrated the Orbit Writer.

Jerry Berrier demonstrated speaking stopwatch.

Nina Kagan demonstrated a pair of noise cancelling headphones from Audio Technica, the AN7 wired model.

Jerry Berrier demonstrated Blind Compass.

The meeting was adjourned at 3:30 p.m.

Respectfully submitted, Jeanette Kutash, Vibug Clerk
