Date of Meeting: June 13, 2020

When: 1:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Where: On Line Only<

The meeting was called to order by President Frank Ventura at 1:00 p.m. Following introductions, the following announcements were made.

Frank gave directions for muting and unmuting for the mac, iphone, windows computer and a regular house phone. He requested that people mute when they are not speaking.

Jeanette Kutash reported that David Kingsbury asked her to add the following information to the May Meeting Minutes. “Heather Thomas's book is in text format and additionally it is available in both PDF and Microsoft word formats as well.” This information has been added to the May Minutes. If no other corrections are made within the next two weeks Tim will be sent the minutes to put on the website. Also, as of this meeting Tim has the April minutes which will be posted.

Tim Cumings reported that zoom is functioning well, with all audio working properly.

Jerry Berrier reminded all that there are two email lists; anyone can be on the Vibug announce list. It's on free-lists.org. The other list is for members only, and is a vibug support list, where as a member you can ask technical questions, announce things to the group, and converse with other members on relevant topics. We have 41 paid members currently. We know that there are a number of people who have not renewed membership (approximately 60), and Jerry and Jeanette have talked about writing a reminder email to those people, subject to officer approval of what we send out.

Bob Resnick stated that our treasury is in good standing. To pay dues, Go to our website at http://www.vibug.org There is a paypal button where you can pay by paypal or credit card. If you need to pay in any other way, please contact Bob at treasurer@vibug.org and he will work with you.

Frank announced that for anyone who wishes to try any of Vispero's (formerly Freedom Scientific) software, until the end of June you can try Jaws, zoomtexxt or fusion for free. You need only have a US email address. This was done ostensibly to accommodate people working from home who did not have access to their office computers due to Covid- 19, but it is a good marketing strategy.

Consumer conferences are coming up and we hope to report about anything new that transpires about new technology that is available.

David Kingsbury stated The April 2004 build version of Windows 10 came out at the end of May. His download went smoothly and it is working well. David also announced you can mute and unmute on the iphone with a two-finger double tap.

Jen Bose announced that I.R.T.I. is taking over and has a distribution center that is repairing Varioultras and other Baum/Visio-Braille Products. (At the time of this writing I have not received the contact information to post on the list.

Jerry stated that if you want to delete an app on the iphone, instead of going into the edit menu and finding your way to delete, if you go to the app and do a single finger tripple tap you will see a context menu with several options, one of which is to delete the app.

Gary Bartos announced that he will be sending out a link to the Support List for a survey as he is interested in knowing how the company he has started can continue to improve their indoor navigation software and is hoping to do tests when we are meeting in person in areas such as MIT's infinite hallway.

Frank Ventura talked about the basics of windows file-sharing.

Nina Kagan talked about how to work with emojis when in an email in outlook.

Steve Dresser demonstrated winamp.

Following these presentations, the meeting was adjourned at 3:30 p.m.

Respectfully submitted, Jeanette Kutash, Vibug Clerk
