VIBUG MEETING MINUTES

Date of Meeting: March 10, 2023

When: 1:00-3:00 p.m.

WHERE: Virtually

The meeting was called to order at 1:05 p.m. Following introductions, the following announcements were made.

John Smith stated that we have 32 members at this time. Our zoom account bill has been paid. Everything is now transferred in to John's name, so all is working well.

Because there were virtually no new announcements to be proofed by members, Jeanette stated she is sending minutes directly to Tim when this occurs.

Frank wanted people to know we would be having an officer's meeting and if anyone wanted anything discussed they should email him or any of the officers directly.

Jeanette entertained discussion of the option to elect officers every two years. The general agreement after discussion was that it would be simpler if we make this change to do it by rewriting a bylaw.

Nina Kagan reminded people that Seasun was starting on the next Tuesday after our meeting. There are many podcasts and places where people can get information about it.

Following questions and answers David Kingsbury talked about the Google Calendar on line, using it with a PC.

Two students from a Florida high school talked with us about designing a walking mobility aid which uses censors and vibration to help us understand the distance of objects from us; they also hope to help us determine where the objects are, i.e., on the left, right, or in front of us. Object names would be spoken. This device would be used in conjunction with a cane.

The meeting was adjourned at 3:15 p.m.

Respectfully submitted, Jeanette Kutash, Vibug Clerk
