VIBUG MEETING MINUTES

Date of Meeting: May 11, 2019

Where: MIT 77 Mass. Ave., building 5, Room 134, Cambridge, MA

When: 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.

The meeting was called to order by President Frank Ventura at 1:06 p.m. Following introductions, the minutes were read and accepted without changes.

Bob Resnick has reported there are no real changes in our treasury status this month.<

For people who used to get their Low Vision products from a company called Eschenbach, those products were obtained through a company called LVI out of the Netherlands. They are no longer using LVI, and have developed their own lines of CC tv's and magnifiers.

Following questions and answers, David hunt demonstrated Lynx using ubuntu.com and running the screen reader Orca. He also demonstrated a game called Mind Racer available from http://www.2mg.games He also talked about Libre Office for word processing. He also spoke briefly about chirp which is a utility that allows ham radio operators to program radio gear.

The meeting was adjourned at 4:00 p.m.
